Rear Low KickFundamentals

A rear-leg round kick that uses a turning support foot and hip to carry the shin through a low target line.

Build it clean.

  1. 01

    Setup

    Place the lead foot slightly outside the target line, keep your guard active, and shift onto the lead leg.

  2. 02

    Strike

    Pivot the support foot, turn the hip, and carry the rear shin across the low target line as one connected motion.

  3. 03

    Return

    Recoil the leg or complete a controlled step-through, then rebuild your stance before the next strike.

Coach Cue

Turn the floor. Whip the hip.

Common Mistake

Kicking only from the knee while the support foot remains planted toward the target.

Safety First

Make contact only with a suitable bag or pad at controlled power, never an unprotected training partner.
